Playroom Take One

When we moved into this house our twins were just over one year.  So we took one bedroom and turned it into their playroom, and they shared one bedroom. 

 

As all toddlers go they love certain characters on tv and unbeknownst to us parents we sit there and question why.  That was the case with Toopy and Binoo...they LOVED these two and would watch them all day. 

 

So with the regular things little boys like I went ahead and started.  I hand painted most of the pictures, and just a couple are vinyl like Curious George. The letters are vinyl as well. I included all types of vehicles, construction vehicles, Cat in the Hat, Curious George and my all time favorite a little farm.  I painted a chalkboard road for them to draw on. 

 

Now this was actually completed when the boys were close to 3 yrs old, you can watch the video and see what it was like for them, it was a complete surprise, I kept them out of that room the entire time I worked on it.  Up to that point, I was working on the older kids bedrooms, plus the twins were still babies so their toys were on the main floor.

 

Now that they have turned 8, and much to mature for this room...lol, we had to completely re-do the space to something new, and that can grow with them.  That will be my next post, Playroom Take Two.  These pictures were taken before I painted over.  If you do want to paint pictures like these, I used regular latex paint, you can wash your walls...but in the next round, I used acrylics.  Now acrylics were definitely easier...but they will not stand up to scrubbing the walls., the paint will come off.
