Sure feels likes we've hit the home stretch now.
What we've accomplished these past couple weekends. We believe we have identified and repaired all water leaks, and the tin is now completely sealed., yay! The shelves have gone into the kids wardrobe. Drawers and Doors are back into place. The outside of the trailer received new lights, and finished up the sealing on the back end. I did re-purpose the cupboard handles, and gave them a new look by spray painting them. For the screw heads, stick them into a cardboard box and give them a light spray. We purchased some new handles for the drawers. I am still working on the curtains, but in the meantime hubby has installed all the new rods.
Here is my big mistake of the week, I have given the bathroom sink and tub a new facelift by using a product called Tile Doc. It certainly was a frustrating task trying to spray this stuff on. It is not a product I would recommend one use, unless you are really good at spraying with no drips. I picked it up from Wal-Mart of all places, but it appears they are discontinuing the stuff...still I paid $15 per can. I tried to go light and smooth, and I messed up...and because I never used this before, I had no idea how gummy and gooey it is. Also it does not sand very well, I tried to fix my mistakes after drying, but no, doesn't quite work out that well. Would I do it again...probably, but approach this stuff with caution, it is harder to apply than reg spray paint. It does dry smooth and shiny if applied properly, and it's white, it does work. Also it has a strong chemical odor, so have as many windows open as possible., it does go away.
Coming up, we need to find a few things before we can head out for our trip. Sway Bars and Hitch combo, new tire, get it inspected make sure everything works well and see if we can fix the fridge. Still a few more things to do with the windows if we have time, but not a major necessity.
For the inside I still need to purchase the kids new mattresses, and do the wallpaper. Finish the cushions and curtains. Another road block this week was trying to purchase T-Molding, I went to two RV places, all Big Box stores, even called a couple that were suggested...another day wasted. I ended up ordering it on-line, at T-Molding.com. The current molding has warped, and no longer wants to stay in place...so it had to go..

T-Molding (goes around the cabinets and dinette) Re-used hardware, but gave it a spray, and same for screw heads. |
Resealed the exterior trim, and discovered water leaked
in around the front window, it too was removed and fixed.
|
Remove the old lights...it was one entry point we discovered for water. |
Resealed the roof seam here as well, and new lights were added. |
Bathroom Before...removed all fixtures. |
Bathtub/Shower Before |
